As part of its commitment to supporting the labor market and meeting the ICT sector’s demand for digital skills, Digiskills Association, in collaboration with Int@j, organized a specialized event through the Youth, Technology, and Jobs Project. The event brought together training service providers and Int@j members with the goal of enhancing job opportunities for DigiSkills graduates. Funded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and managed by the DigiSkills Association, this initiative fosters new partnerships between training providers and private-sector businesses.
The event was attended by high-level executives from the ICT sector, alongside training service providers from various digital skills programs. Discussions focused on aligning training outcomes with labor market needs and addressing challenges related to youth employment in the ICT sector. Additionally, the event provided employers with direct insights into the skills and competencies acquired by graduates, aiming to better prepare them for the workforce by equipping them with the necessary practical and technical expertise.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Alaa Ensheiwat, Chairman of the Board of Digiskills, stated:
“Strengthening digital skills has become a core element of the modern economy. Our goal is to bridge the gap between digital talent and the working environment. Through this event, we are providing a platform that enables companies to directly assess graduates’ capabilities and leverage their potential to support future business growth. At Digiskills, we believe that empowering youth and equipping them with the necessary skills will improve employment opportunities and enhance Jordan’s digital economy’s competitiveness, both locally and regionally.”
Mr. Nidal Bitar, CEO of Int@j, emphasized the critical role of the private sector in shaping and guiding training initiatives to meet evolving labor market demands. He noted that the ICT sector is undergoing rapid transformations, requiring continuous adaptation by training institutions to ensure the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills.
Bitar further highlighted the importance of public-private sector collaboration in bridging the gap between training outputs and employment needs. He described the event as a step in the right direction, particularly in involving companies in shaping training programs to ensure they address both current and future challenges in the sector, ultimately strengthening youth employment opportunities.
The recently signed agreement between Int@j, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Digiskills Association, and Better Business aims to update the analysis of Jordan’s ICT sector’s supply and demand gap. This analysis will provide insights into market-specific needs, helping Jordanian companies enhance their regional and international competitiveness by developing more effective talent attraction and development strategies.
Beyond discussions, the event also provided a practical platform for training service providers to expand their network within the technology sector. Mechanisms for ensuring the sustainability of these partnerships were explored to maintain a steady flow of qualified talent into the labor market in alignment with the rapid evolution of digital skills.
This initiative is part of Digiskills Association’s efforts in ensuring it is a strategic partner in strengthening Jordan’s digital labor market. By ensuring training programs align with industry needs, Digiskills aims to enhance the employability of graduates. Similarly, Int@j remains committed to enabling the private sector to access qualified talent capable of contributing effectively to economic growth.
Ultimately, this event plays a vital role in building strong connections between training service providers and companies, ensuring that Jordan’s digital workforce is prepared for the job market and actively supporting the country’s digital transformation.
